Children's Creative is a self-publishing website that sets out to enthuse even the most reluctant writer. It is a powerful motivational classroom resource that means any child is merely a few mouse clicks away from making real on-line page-turning books and can experience the thrill of becoming a real author - providing a genuine incentive for children to want to write.

Children's Creative is a web based resource, which means there is nothing to install - it can work on any adobe flash enabled computer with a connection to the internet. The site has been used extensively by children and teachers and has evolved to be as easy as possible to get to grips with. It has been designed to appeal to as wide an ability range as possible. Its ease of use means that less able children can experience the thrill of seeing their work published in a REAL book while the more able students can use the same technology to work at their level.

The site provides the ability for children to create stories, which can be sent to their teacher for approval and immediately published as a dynamic page turning book for the child to read, share and enjoy. It's thrilling and motivational. Children can use our built in tools to create their own illustrations, as well as upload and maintain a library of their own images, which can easily be inserted into their stories. Crucially, everything the child does is overseen by their teacher in way that is completely pain free and simple to use. More

The site offers many other features that support learning and encourages creativity, linked to The National Curriculum.

What else does Children's Creative provide?

The Virtual School Library & The Virtual Curriculum Library. More

Virtual school displays . More

.. and much much more; we have inbuilt art packages and character makers, all linked to a central theme - creativity in writing.

As Children's Creative is a web based resource it genuinely brings home and school together by involving parents in their child's learning. Using their own unique login, children can either carry on work started in class or write their own books and submit them for their teacher's approval from home at anytime. The site encourages communication between teachers and their pupil by providing a facility that enables children to attach messages to work they submit for approval, while allowing teachers to similarly attach comments to the work, whether it is approved for publication or returned to the child to be worked on further.

Most importantly a large level of security has been built into the site. Not only does all work have to be approved before it is published, but teachers also have the facility to view every image the child has uploaded on to their area of the site. Children's Creative realises the importance of providing a safe and secure site for children. We take extensive measures to protect data and privacy.

The cost is £3 per pupil per year for the first 200 children and £1 for every additional child.

There is no other product like this on the market - deciding to be part of this website now means that you will be at the beginning of a new educational phenomenon.

Once approved by their teacher, work produced by Children's Creative authors is either displayed in the child's personal library, the school library or a public library area. These sections of the site have searchable "virtual" bookshelves that are comprehensively categorized using the School Dewey system and have been designed to feel like a real library. Over time these animated shelves will grow into a valuable school resource providing a record of each child's development and becoming an ever- expanding collection that will tell the story of the child's journey as an author.

Children's Creative is an ideal tool for teachers to use when preparing lesson materials across the curriculum that can be easily accessed by their class via the site. Also specific resource banks of images can be prepared by teachers and made available for pupils to download. Most excitingly, these resources can be made available in the public library for colleagues and teachers from other schools to share and can be easily accessed and projected onto the class whiteboard. In essence Children's Creative is building an ever growing library of teacher-tested resources and making it available for fellow educators to use.
